Our process started with research on college students’ focus and workspace challenges. We brainstormed interfaces and wearables, then developed wireframes and 3D models to shape the product. Prototyping and user testing provided insights that refined the design, resulting in a final solution tailored to support effective workspace management and focus.
Identifying the problem
Understanding the users & research
Our target audience was students, aged 18 - 24, who have ADHD/ display symptoms of ADHD. Our research on the target audience centered on college students with ADHD symptoms. We explored their challenges with focus, workspace organization, and task management, identifying common pain points like distractions and difficulty maintaining productivity. This insight shaped our solution to offer tailored, real-time support that directly addresses their needs.
Ideation
We brainstormed different interface designs and wearables that assist users in optimizing their workspaces. The focus was on wearables that track user behavior and offer real-time feedback to improve productivity, along with interfaces that provide personalized workspace organization and task management suggestions.
Development
In the development phase, we created wireframes and 3D models of the product. This process helped visualize the interface and functionality, ensuring the design aligned with the goal of enhancing workspace organization and productivity.
Prototyping & Testing
In the prototyping and user testing phase, we developed functional prototypes based on our wireframes and 3D models. We conducted user testing with college students, including those with ADHD symptoms, to gather feedback on usability and effectiveness. The insights gained helped refine the product, ensuring it addressed the specific needs of the target audience, particularly in enhancing focus and workspace management.
Here, the outcomes and achievements of the project are highlighted.
Enhanced User Focus
The final product effectively helped college students, especially those with ADHD symptoms, improve their focus by providing real-time, personalized recommendations for organizing their workspaces and managing distractions.
Improved Productivity
Students reported increased productivity as the solution streamlined their workspace management and task prioritization, reducing stress and improving time management.
Positive User Feedback
User testing results showed high satisfaction with the interface design and wearables, with participants noting the practicality and ease of use, particularly for maintaining an organized and productive environment.
