Why productivity feels so out of reach
For college students aged 18-25, especially those with ADHD symptoms, staying productive in disorganized environments can feel like swimming against the tide. Distractions pile up, stress levels rise, and existing tools fail to offer meaningful, personalised solutions.
The productivity struggle is real
Opportunity
We saw a gap in the market for a real-time, adaptive tool that helps neurodivergent individuals take control of their environment—not just their task lists.
The research process
Our research painted a vivid picture of college life for students with ADHD symptoms. We uncovered recurring pain points: cluttered desks, constant distractions, and difficulty maintaining focus. Through interviews, surveys, and user observations, we shaped Toggle to directly address these challenges with real-time, tailored support.
104 survey participants & 10 in-depth interviews with neurodivergent users.
Competitor analysis
User personas & journey mapping to define common pain points.
What neurodivergent users said
78% struggle to work in cluttered environments.
83% frequently lose items due to disorganization.
90% agree that a clean workspace improves productivity.
Existing solutions focus on time management, not environmental optimization.
Information architecture
We designed the information architecture with a strong focus on intuitiveness, ensuring a seamless and effortless user experience.
Wearables and interfaces to rule distractions
What if your workspace knew exactly how to help you focus? Our ideation process explored wearables that track user behavior, provide feedback, and offer actionable advice. Combined with interfaces designed to declutter and organize, we envisioned a system that didn’t just guide users but empowered them to take control.
Key product decisions
Minimalist UI with high contrast and clean design to reduce visual clutter.
Gamification elements to encourage habit-building.
Voice and haptic feedback for non-intrusive nudging.
To turn our vision into reality, we rolled up our sleeves during the development phase. We designed wireframes and crafted 3D models, breathing life into Toggle’s features and functionality. Every detail was fine-tuned to ensure the final product would support users in optimizing their personal spaces effortlessly.
User testing: Real students, real feedback, real progress
Prototyping wasn’t just a phase - it was an adventure. We tested our solution with college students, including those with ADHD symptoms, and gathered invaluable insights. Each round of feedback refined the product, ensuring it resonated with users and met their needs for better focus, organization, and task management.
Low-Fi Prototypes: User Testing Round 1 → Feedback Implementation.
Mid-Fi Wireframes: User Testing Round 2 → Improved Navigation.
Final High-Fi Prototypes: User Testing Round 3 → 100% Success Rate.
